Absolutely loved this Schezuan restaurant. It doesn't look like much but the food was incredible. The customer service was great, they tended to us very quickly despite having a rush of to go orders come in. The atmosphere is nothing notable but it's clean. The food was flavorful and delicious. We got the Chongqing Spicy Chicken Noodles which had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. I got the smoked pork fried rice. The pork is smoked for 5 hours. You can definitely taste the smoky flavor in the dish and I loved it! This place was a wonderful find and I highly recommend

We wanted authentic Chinese food and this place had high reviews so we stopped by. We came in around lunch and it was completely empty. You order through a QR code even though you’re seated at a table. No problem. They charge extra for takeout vs. dine-in, I suppose to offset the cost of containers. If you ask for any other sauce, or sauce on the side instead of mixed in, also extra. We had the Dan Dan Noodles, Spicy Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice, and Spring Rolls. The noodles were flavorful but the beef was so little in quantity that it seemed sprinkled on top as a garnish rather than making it a meat dish. There were also no sesame seeds or sauce, so the noodles were very dry once mixed (see photo). The fried rice was fresh and flavorful, but not double fried, and the spice came only from the red pepper flakes, so nothing special. The spring rolls were small in size, but to be expected. We did feel it was a bit overpriced, but would still come back as the food was not bad, just not perfect.

Fabulous food here. The Zhong style pork dumplings and handmade sweet and spicy thick noodles were so so delicious. The sauce was so vibrant with flavor, and the dumplings and noodles tasted very chewy and homemade. This is a staple for Asian cuisine on Buford Highway!

I’m not the biggest dumpling fan but those Zhong Style Dumplings are insane. Gotta love that numbing, spicy flavor and the texture of the dumplings are perfect.

That said, don’t sleep on their other dishes!

Their crispy beef is as good as I’ve had, as are the handmade sweet and spicy thick noodles. Surprised to see the overall rating for Gu’s is below a 4.5 these days.

I came to Gu’s Kitchen because it came up with a 4.4 rating for Chinese near me. It was very good! The food tasted authentic, came out fairly quickly and had tons of flavor. Food portions were definitely shareable. I would recommend the Chongqing Spicy Chicken, chicken dumplings and the white rice. Next time I will order their noodles and fried rice.

You Gotta try this place!
Artisan dumplings ? and noodles ? here in Atlanta.

Gu's is a family owned and run restaurant that serves their version of some Chinese classics with a flare. They have two to three people making dumplings all day long.

We always get the hand made Zhong Style Chicken Dumplings. Chicken or pork, doesn't matter it's soo very yummy. The dumplings are tender with just the right seasoning if the meat, and the sauce is a perfect addition to them. Be sure to mix up the dumplings with the sauce before eating. Next we get the Handmade Sweet & Spicy Thick Noodles. You can really taste a difference when it's made from scratch. Flavorful, thick noodles with just the right amount of seasoning and sauce. Tonight we also got the Spicy Dried Eggplant...which doesn't taste like eggplant at all. Perfectly cooked light and crispy with just the right spice and seasoning. It literally melts in your mouth.

To our typical, we added Dan Dan Noodles. These are medium thickness with seasoning and sauce and some flavorful ground beef sprinkled in. Then we had the Spicy Crispy Beef. This has got to be my new favorite here. The beef was so tender. It was breaded with a light breading that seemed to have both nuts and flour as well as spices. It was cooked to perfection, still keeping the beef tender but making the perfect crispiness. Served with minced garlic and Cilantro, spring onions and chilis. Wow, what a great dish. Last, well actually first I started with Hot and Sour Soup. You can always tell the quality of a Chinese restaurant by the taste of the hot and sour soup. This one has to be in my top 5 of all time. A perfect balance of sour with spicy, mushrooms, tofu and other ingredients.

The food is always served hot, fresh and quick. If I lived closer I would eat there a couple times a week. If you haven't ever been there, substitute your typical Chinese food with Gu's and experience some Artisan Chinese food. You will forever compare typical Chinese food to Gu's. Hen hao!

I had the Handmade Sweet and Spicy Thick Noodles and Zhong Style Noodles. It is indicated as spicy but neither were spicy. I appreciate the vegan options and it was indicated as so on the menu. The flavor was spot on but felt it was missing substance. It was $25.00 for the noodles and 6 dumplings. Service was a bit slow, I put down my menu and had to wait to place my order. The portion size for the noodles was enough for 2-3 meals.
